Hillocks Drive, Butler’s Beach is best known for bush camping on Yorke Peninsula. The broad expanse of coastline and camping grounds provide space to find an isolated hideaway or area for large groups to camp together. Bush camp in your caravan/camper or bring your tents or swags.
A description of the camp sites can be found here. Eco toilets are provided at the campsite. Potable bore water and rain water are available. Rubbish disposal provided. BBQ and shelter available. All sites are unpowered.
Ideal for school groups and adventure groups.
Hot showers, flush toilet and washing machine available near shop.
Registration and code must be obtained from the shop.
Campfires
Camp fires are permitted at Hillocks Drive from the 30th April until the 1st November. Please bring:
- A metal surround to contain the fire
- A metal bucket
- A metal shovel
- your own fire wood (or buy fire wood from our shop)
Collection of firewood from Hillocks bush is strictly prohibited. Campfires may not be lit on the ground in campsites. Please ensure:
- Campfires are extinguished with water ( not sand )
- Ash and coals are picked up and discarded in the assigned area near the T junction before breaking camp, leaving the campsite free of ash and coals
- Unwanted wood is left in the assigned area for fellow camper’s to use
Camp fires are allowed on the beach between high and low water mark for the month of April and 1st-15th November. Seasonal variations may occur, please check at the shop or CFS website for the latest fire rating.
Strictly no fires from 15th November to 1st April.

Terms
Prices are indicative and subject to change. Prices includes water, hot showers, flushing and camp toilets, rubbish disposal and BBQ. Laundry, fridge/freezer available at extra cost.
Closure Dates: Bush camping closes from 18th June to 18th August yearly. Hillocks Homestead and Hillocks Ocean Pod may be rented at this time.
Tariffs: All fees payable on arrival. Tariff is not refundable if your stay is cut short. When settling all associated fees, having insight into processing charges becomes crucial; employing a card machine comparison can provide the clarity you need.
Cancellation: Deposit paid is not refunded. If the business is notified prior to one month before arrival date the deposit of $50 may be transferred to another booking date.

Pets: Welcome on leash, provided they don’t disturb wildlife or neighbouring camps.
